Saw the banner during opening day, as did other people.. and we all went.. Fuck.. we're old.

So nothing happened in the park before 2005 it seems from that quiz.

What about the 2000 Tigers/White Sox 3 round brawl?

edit part 2, didn't realize there are more to vote on.. Will take foot out of mouth.

Pods HR and Konerko HR in the same bracket? :bunk:

If you scroll down there's plenty of older ones. They're just spacing the voting out so it lasts until Homecoming Weekend.
Yeah, it's a little dumb to have all the postseason grouped together.

Pods HR slam. A walkoff winner in the World Series? Konerko's slam. Then Buehrle's perfecto.

They are in what is called the Postseason Peaks region. Should one of them been somewhere else?

While the city hasn't seen a World Series winner in over 80s years before that. A perfect game is more rare in the game.. Fun fact, I picked work over going to that game.

Pods slam? In 2006 against the Astros? Why is that the best moment?

Yeah; Phil Humber should be remembered more fondly than the 2005 White Sox team.

Blackout Game clip misses the 3 most important plays
    - Griffey throw home
    - Thome HR
    - BA diving catch for last out

I think the 2005 team are remembered a little too much in this town.. it's 11 years ago, get over it.

Though I see your point.. seeing a perfect game is about as rare as seeing a Kenny Williams' built team making the post season.

The Iguchi (not Iguichi) HR in Game 2 of the ALDS is grossly underrated, but it doesn't stand a chance. That's the moment when it was apparent that the Sox were going to beat Boston and go on to win it all.

Just felt like that whole team of destiny BS. It was immediately after the ball went through Graffinino's legs, no?

I wasn't convinced that the team was going to do anything in the postseason until that moment, even with the game one blowout.

My clearest memory of the Boston series was watching Marte shit the bed right before I boarded a plane, then getting off the plane in New York to greetings from happy Yankees fans who were excited that Boston embarrassed themselves, then driving to New England where people were less happy.

How So? The video starting a game is IMO 1/2 the 2005 team. It was great 10 years ago to reflect on that year. But, I'm of the mindset.. Win another one before 80+ years. Reflect every 10/20/25 years.

Well, you said in this town, not necessarily by the team. Imagine if it were the Cubs that did it. You'd still be seeing those guys everywhere like the 85 Bears.
  31. AnthraxFan93

    AnthraxFan93 BASEBALL GURU

Correct the town didn't see a world series winner. I don't care two shits about the Cubs.. until the 4/6 games a year. If they win great for the city, but does nothing for me or this team.

Do you really want to be like those 85 bears fans? Pathetic still talking about the one title your team got 30 years ago..

Only entry missing is El Duque's shutdown performance in Game 3 of the damn ALDS.

    Otherwise: :jb:

Been to almost all those events, except for: perfect games, McDowell/Fisk/Bo old shit, Frank's RBI record, ring ceremony, Sale's K record, and some statue unveilings.

After Marte shit the bed, it felt like the SOX could choke the series away. Boston was the defending WS champs, after all. I was at Monk's with a lot of other SOX fans who you could tell were feeling the same way.

El Duque stranded them loaded in Boston in game 3 of the ALDS. Games 2-5 of the ALCS were complete games. Without looking it up, was it Cotts who came in the game 1 loss?

First of all this is memories of stuff that happened at Comiskey/US Cellular. That was in Fenway. Also it was the ALDS not the ALCS. The only relief pitcher int he ALCS was Neal Cotts in game one.

Weird that they have Bo's homer to win the division in 93 but not really winning the division itself. Only thing they've ever clinched at home in this time frame. I was looking at the list thinking WTF, I know they won it at home.
