He'll eventually be in the majors if he can stay healthy. Another reason to cut AJ loose?
He's got a great shot to be the next Brad Ausmus
Looks a little like Karko. Smooth fielding, soft bat wielding catcher.
I bet he likes Jazz.
I put a lot of value in catching defense so I can handle him being an Ausmus type but that means absolutely 2 out of 3 of Vicideo, Beckham and Ramirez have to go. You can't have 4 holes in the lineup like that.
As much as it'll be nice to have a guy who can actually throw runners out, we're gonna miss the days of having a productive catcher once AJ leaves.
That's crossed my mind the last few years. Sure, AJ had some stinkers but he was always above your average Miguel Olivo type offensively.
Keep AJ in the organization. He'll make a very good manager one day.
Isn't he far too much of an abrasive asshole that most people hate to be a good manager?
Given his age, contract, and possible upside, couldn't the Sox get a somewhat decent return on Viciedo?
AJ is a smart player. Usually. He could handle a pitching staff.
He's an asshole as an everyday player so you put up with him. I don't know how well players would deal with him riding them as an ex-athlete asshole.
Would we all have a good laff watching AJ managerial antics? Good chance.
Manager is Konerko's job. You're a fool to think otherwise.
Konerko is clearly in mind to take Baine's job as the silent first base/bench coach. AJ as hitting coach. Because why the fuck not, that's why. Wise bullpen coach.
I think Konerko's never leaving Arizona once he retires. Not eating shit at the end of a bench for countless seasons.
Yeah, PK seems like the type who steps away from the game for 10 years, like Robin.
Not only retires never to be heard from again, but gains like 75 pounds too.
He could coach for the Sox without leaving AZ.
What with Skype and all..
Sox have Spring Training, extended ST, instructs, and AFL in AZ.
They play Aussie Rules Football in Arizona
