Not that has any impact on what happens, but Belichick assistants have a 157-234 (.401) record as head coaches after working under Bill.

    Alex Smith traded to Washington.

So now where does Cousins land? Jacksonville? Minnesota? Arizona?

    :what:

Had no idea. So 1/16th of NFL starting QBs have ties to this board (October knew Wentz pretty well growing up).

That’s a shame about Alex Smith. Cousins to Denver is bad for the Bears draft-wise.

Redskins actually also signed him to an extension that includes $71 million guaranteed.

Seems quite risky to tie yourself to the next 3 years with a QB during his age 34 to 36 seasons.

Washington is such an inept franchise.

They really are. Cousins is already entering his age 30 season because he spent 5 years in college so he's not exactly young but he's proven himself the last 3 seasons. Why not give him the same deal and add an extra year of guaranteed money to have him at age 30 to 33? Make it like a 7 year deal with 4 years of guarantees at $25 million per. Although he may not want to stay with how the franchise has treated him for the past couple years.

I would find it hard to believe some combination of Cleveland, Giants and Jets don't take 2 QBs before the Bears. And then you also have teams trading up, so I think all 3 of Allen, Rosen and Darnold will probably be gone. My guess is the Bears take Flowers if he's there. Then I would predict Roquan Smith or Joshua Jackson. This is also assuming the Bears don't trade down, which I would be okay with if they did that to move down a few spots and get a Davenport or Ridley and acquire another low first/high second.

Also the way this QB class shook out makes the Mitch deal better. Rosen and Darnold were suppose to headline the best QB class in years. Well Darnold regressed and Rosen never took that leap and came up short in big games. So these guys are entering the draft when they went from people saying they'd go #1 or 2 to now maybe a few picks after. Where Mitch was a rising prospect entering the draft.

And I'll laugh if Allen gets picked top 2. He's got all the physical tools but he's a big project. Couldn't even complete 60% at Wyoming. He's probably at least 2 years away from being ready.

The dream scenario is that Bradley Chubb falls to the Bears somehow, or even Fitzpatrick. None of that is highly likely though. Davenport is shooting up a lot of boards after his Senior Bowl performance, and a poster on another board had video clips of him against A&M which was pretty impressive. Harold Landry from Boston College is slipping a bit, so if he's someone in the second round, you run for him. Between McPhee, Young, and Houston - there really isn't much on the opposite side of Floyd, and that's a big issue.
That gets to one of my biggest complaints we always hear about QBs in the draft. The next crop of prospects is always the better group.

Likely 1 to 7 is the 3 QBs, Chubb, Barkley, Fitz and Flowers in some order. Maybe someone reaches for Davenport or one of the other corners goes higher than expected.

It's essentially the Hillary/Trump dichotomy. The only QB that's worse than Cousins on this pay scale is Smith.

I'd be thrilled if Nelson fell to the Bears. Doubt Chubb will, but that would also be a fantastic turn of events.

There are rumors that Elway loves Mayfield (at least, from what I heard in Denver), and somebody had him going #1 in their mock. How you can mock before FA and the combine, I have no idea, but there ya go.

Brees only has a year left... that noodle arm isn't worth the risk for any team save New Orleans. Cousins should get a good deal somewhere as he actually has talent. He's like Cutler 1.3.
