Sox could move to WGN or WLS next year.
Between Bears All-Access in the middle of spring and Cubs programming...
Bears all access
Is that that show that's on in the evening where they interview semi-literate D backs with softball questions?
I was just thinking about what the Bears were up to.
I know, right? You never hear about those guys at all, unless the season has started.
Oh boy, rookie minicamp opens on Monday...
Yeah. The Bears pay for that time because the thirst for Tim Jennings' life story is insatiable in mid-May.
Of course, there's a packed house at a suburban Hooters complete with the trashy fucking wife and her pink Urlacher jersey.
The ubiquitous huge fat fuck with a shaved head and an orange Urly.
He needs chicken in him.
Gonna status this one
It was a pretty good status
The chicken part has had me dying for the past ten minutes. Impossible to explain to others.
Best part of this all doe would presumably and hopefully be the end of Rongey. Not that I ever listen, but man...just reading about him pisses me off. Total hack and shill.
He has this know it all attitude about himself despite having no real reason to act like a pompous ass.
Dude was just an update guy on The Score before he got that gig and all of a sudden he thinks he's qualified to talk down to everyone about baseball. I know he has to be a Sox shill to some extent but he's just way over the top at times.
He just has to run every little criticism through his bullshit "the organization/management is right" filter, which is entirely obnoxious when there are completely valid criticisms which are sometimes ok to just acknowledge without making bullshit excuses or deferring to "Guys, every team/manager/player...."
His inflated ego most definitely comes from the sheer volume of mouthbreathing retards he has to interact with on a daily basis, which is somewhat understandable, but he also becomes one at times with his idiot opinions.
I don't consume biased media if possible . It's also silly for the team to think that they need to shill out the team to a bunch of diehards who are never going anywhere
I only read box scores, injury reports, and soxhaps.com.
Yeah Rongey's attitude towards the retarded callers doesn't really make sense. Anyone who calls into that show or listens regularly isn't going anywhere. They are the DIE SOX WHITE HARD fan from Tinley that will always be a huge Sox fan. You don't need to shill to those people.
You don't have to look any further than WSI to see that the SOX target market wants to marry Rongey's approach even though they also love to bitch about the same things they love Rongey for calling out people for bitching about.
Sports fans: have the downs
WLS has won the bidding, 6 year deal.
CBS has a one time relocation clause that allows them to move the Cubs to 670 next year, they will almost certainly do that now.
Fuller never needs to move the dial!
Yeah, sounding like that was a done deal a year ago. Sox were never coming back to CBS.
Cumulus has more $$ to blow than the Tribune and is far more desperate to improve their market share.
The latest Nielsen Audio survey shows WLS in 29th place with a 1.1 percent share and a cumulative weekly audience of 343,600. Revenue declined 27.5 percent last year.
Gosh, I hope Rongey makes the move too.
Cubs on WSCR was inevitable once CBS won those rights. I'm just happy someone bid on the Sox and they weren't relegated to 560.
Does WLS reach Granger? Wouldn't want to deprive Aris of the full SOX experience.
If it weren't for Viva hinting at it, I wouldn't have discovered WLS is mostly syndicated right wing trash radio. But since the Sox mostly play night games during the week, this means less Michael Savage and Mark Levin which is a GREAT thing. Will they dump them all together? The two are alternated on a daily basis on my "Liberty" station out here.
Also, return of Patbooyah since Steve Dahl is on there?
Every once in a while I'll scan through the AM dial and I just when I stumble across 890.
Keep fucking that chicken, guys.
I wondered if there were such an outlet on the Chicago dial. I think back when I lived there it might have been WIND, but that was back when I thought radio was purely for music and comedy haps.
Now it's just comedy haps.
Someone forgot to email Brooks.
Deal is now official. Bulls going to 890 too.
Brooks: Finally e-mailed about the deal?
Meanwhile, it looks like the White Sox, now 41-45 after a hot start to July, were not just figuratively unwatchable, as Nielsen shows them with a 0.82 rating, down 43 percent, on CSN. That’s the biggest drop of any team in baseball.
IIRC, the TV ratings were trending up last year for some odd reason. I never understood why.
Farmer and DJ both coming back on 1 year deals.
I don't love/hate Farmer & DJ, they are pretty inoffensive and make for an okay "listen in the car for a few moments" team. They are not ideal if you're one of those listen to the radio for the entire game types though, they are pretty dry. With that said, we have bigger fish to fry as far as commentating futures.
